Cover Songs

The two songs I compared were Snoop doggs "Gin and Juice," and the cover, The Gourds "Gin and Juice." The main differences in gin and juice and its cover is most noticeably the genre of the two. Snoop doggs version is obviously hip hop, and he is rapping about the obvious struggles of "pimpin." In the Gourds country version of gin and juice, there is no computer generated beats, just the good ole guitar. In this version it seems that they are singing proudly about coming from the backwoods and are proud to be what society would call a , "redneck."
